Bringing classic, American style baked goods to San Diego

Baking has always been my passion, and I’m excited to share my treats with fellow San Diegans. The name “Golden Hour Bakeshop” pays homage to my home state and refers to those magical times of day when the sun sits just below the horizon. I wanted to incorporate that sense of whimsy into my baking and my bakery.

Growing up in Los Angeles, my grandmother—a caterer and cook—ensured that her family ate just as well as her clients. She introduced me to the culinary world, with a specialization in African American cuisine and baked goods. In 2006, I made my first batch of cinnamon rolls for my family, and for the past 20 years, I have worked hard to perfect my recipes. Using fresh, local ingredients has always been crucial in my baking, and living in California gives me access to wonderful ingredients and elevates my baking to new heights.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports me and my vision. I love baking for my community.
